Controlled Burn Series

I call these paintings my Controlled Burn Series.   I paint heavy layers of paint, each having a different consistency.  Then I further manipulate the paint on the canvas, forcing it to meld and flow in specific directions.  It is a slow and complicated process, but when dry, the paintings have brilliant, sometimes crystalline, surfaces filled with great detail.  They are mesmerizing, evoking any number of feelings and sensations.
