Breadbasket

 

This piece has numerous layers of different types of paint that were applied over a number of weeks. Final layers were painted outdoors in freezing weather (well below 32 degrees Fahrenheit). With great care, the finished canvas is systematically warmed over several weeks. When successful, the process produces bold colors that crack and ultimately dry with a high gloss finish. Rich Earth tones weave among flowing blues and lavish greens throughout the canvas. The piece is emblematic of the natural abundance and prosperity of our planet.
